Local Enterprise -Bog Oak and Ogham Crafts

A local enterprise uses bog oak to create wonderful sculptures out of bog oak inscribed with OGHAM script. THE GATHERING has inspired a special plaque: The Gathering Plaque. The history of bog oak may be found on their website:History of Bog Oak

The three main types of wood found preserved in bogs today are:- Scots Pine, Oak and Yew. They can be from 4000 to 7000 years old.

It is from these beautiful trees that adorned our Irish landscale 5000 years ago, that we carefully craft pieces for the modern living space.
