Model of Ballincollig Gunpowder Mill on Display

The following image shows the display model which used to be in the former Ballincollig Gunpowder Mills Visitors’ Centre. This display model appeared in Ballincollig Library recently.  It sits in the middle of the library with no title or explanation. It represents the incorporating mill where the ingredients of gunpowder were gound together using water power. The blast wall is to protect other mills from any explosion in one incorporating mill and thus containing any damage.

Sitting in the middle of the library with no title or explanation….. could it be a symptom of the recession? Surely a paragraph affixed could help with an explanation!
