OPW choose Heritage Week to demolish Historic House in Ballincollig

The old Garda Station, which has been the subject of previous posts on this blog, is going to be demolished htis week. Ironically, it is Heritage Week!

    How ironic with regard to the timing of the demolition but more significant is the fact that the demolition is being undertaken with the blessing of the body which is meant to protect national heritage!

    I agree. The Office of Public Works (OPW) has a lot to answer for in demolishing part of Ballincollig village’s heritage.
